It’s about time I let you guys in on something that’s been in the pipeline for a little while. I’m extremely happy to announce that we have another blogger here at Cruising Isn’t Just For Old People who will be writing for you guys every Saturday! Her name is Stella and I’m sure her passion and enthusiasm will brighten up your weekends like she does mine. She encapsulates to me all that there is to love about being a young cruiser and I’m really really excited to have her onboard (ooo, ship pun).
All about Stella
Who are you and where are you from?
So, my name is Stella Khayat, I’m 20 years old, Leo with ascendant in Libra, PR student pursuing an academic career. I like to call myself a world citizen: I was born and live in Sao Paulo, Brazil (so that’s makes me Brazilian), daughter of an Italian mother (giving me the Italian citizenship) and Lebanese father (so I’m Lebanese too). That makes so much easier to travel: you have no idea the number of visas I skip using a lot of passports! I’m lucky enough to say I have travelled to more than thirty countries – and that’s just fifteen per cent of all countries in the world!
When did you take your first cruise and how many have you done since?
The first cruise I took I was five years old: I went on a Brazilian coastal cruise with my family with MSC Armonia, a brand-new ship back then. I have a lot of good memories! Years later, I’m in my eleventh cruise (and counting)!
What’s your number one cruise line?
I’ve cruised with only five lines, but my all-time favorite (and the booking runner up) is Norwegian Cruise Line. I absolutely love the Freestyle Cruising and how fun and dashing at the same time the ships can be.
– And what’s your favourite thing about cruising?
It’s hard to say (because I love it so much and, as I mentioned, my ascendant is Libra) but probably waking up in a different port every morning and meeting new people that you would not meet if wasn’t for the cruise.
Why do you think cruising isn’t just for old people?
Let’s start with the obvious: I’m not old and I love cruising What attracts the older crowd it’s the comfort of taking a cruise and there are definitely cruise lines and itineraries more popular with seniors. If you’re a person that likes to be in five star resorts, you’ll like cruising; if you like good entertainment, you’ll like cruising; if you like to discover new places; you’ll like cruising. Cruising isn’t just for old people because it can be as exciting as you want it to be!
What kind of content can we look forward too from you?
I’m an enthusiastic about life, first and foremost! I put a lot of myself in everything I do, so every post will be my take into a relevant topic for the life style of cruisers! I’ll write a lot about past experiences with cruise lines and ports of call, tips and tricks, but also the art of planning a cruise and my expectations for future cruises. People describe me as funny, honest and assertive. You can be sure your Saturday will be better with a company like me?! Happy travels, everyone!
Every Saturday Stella will be bringing you a new article so keep your eyes peeled. Be sure to keep up with her adventures on twitter @stellavkhayat. I know I’ve said this once already but I’m really excited to have her onboard! I’m sure you’ll all love her as much as I do.
Happy cruising guys.
